Honey Lime Salmon
What do you do when summer is halfway out the door and fall is starting to get comfortable in your kitchen?
For us, there are perks to each season, but sometimes we’re stuck in the “in-between” phase, where we haven’t quite said goodbye to summer yet, but are not quite in the fall mood yet. So what we like to do is make the most out of both seasons with a simple and delicious dish that is healthy and light for the summer, but with ingredients that you can find year-round. Hence, our recipe for Honey-Lime Salmon.
The salmon is simply broiled, and the only work you have to do is whisk together a quick and easy dressing made of honey, lime juice, oil, and green onions.
We recently kicked off our How to Maximize Flavor series, and this recipe is a perfect example of adding flavor to your food, with it’s easy cooking, but wow factor in flavor.
“The salmon was great — very easy and quick. The dressing was tasty — we liked that it wasn’t an overwhelming flavor, but complemented the salmon nicely.”
We’ll be covering a lot of great things in the series, from spices to sauces, but here’s a little taste of what you can do to make food taste amazing. Knowing how to make a simple dressing can go a long way. One bite of this salmon, and you will know how much of a difference it can make.
We love this Honey-Lime Salmon with our Tomato, Avocado, and Quinoa Salad. In fact, these recipes go hand-in-hand, making it for a complete meal with quick prep / cooking time. All you have to do is double up the recipe for the dressing, pour half over the salmon, and then toss the remainder with the salad. You can never go wrong with the concept of “make once, use twice!”
Just making more of any dressing or sauce and using for multiple dishes cuts back on prep time. As much as we love to cook, we don’t want to spend an entire day in the kitchen! So we’re all about taking shortcuts and making cooking easier whenever we can.
“Dressing was very good and the whole thing was a cinch to make.”
So now that summer is ending, it’s back to work or school, and the holidays (Yes! They’re coming sooner than you think!) are just around the corner, you will need fast and simple recipes for your weeknight meals. This recipe is a sure win, and we’re positive that with easy dishes like these, you will not have to resort to take-out!
