It’s a brand new year and, while I know that this pandemic is still not over, I am hoping that 2021 brings us more good news than bad, more IRL connection than Zoom, and more renewed energy than ohmygodwillthiseverend? burnout.

I am hoping that we can start making changes in 2021 that were too impossible to under the weight of 2020. Over the course of 4 lessons here on the blog, I’ll be like a little tiny habits coach, helping you transform your new year with the help of Tiny Habits: The Small Changes That Change Everything by BJ Fogg.

My best friend got me this book for my birthday last year because it’s exactly the kind of book that an efficiency and productivity nerd like me loves.

And while my favorite Peloton instructor Jess Sims’ go-to motivation is, “I can do hard things,” what I love about Fogg’s book is that it’s about making change without having to do hard things.

Because 2020 was already a year full of hard things, I want to help make 2021 easy. In 4 lessons, I’ll use this book to show you how we take very simple steps to create transformational change in our lives. It will be like a little tiny habits free course. And one of the best parts is that you’ll be able to apply each step to any part of your life that needs a refresh and edit.

This can be the year you finally meal prep. Or the year you keep a tidy house. Or the year that you fall in love with exercising. Or the year you stop nagging your kids.

So before we dive into how to easily create new habits this year, let’s start with this short but important exercise: I want 2021 to be the year I ___________. Comment below and let me know what you would fill in the blank with, and to make it a bit harder, you can only pick 1 thing because this is about tiny habits and therefore tiny steps.

So pick the ONE thing that would transform your life the most, and we will start with the first step tomorrow! Make sure to come back here all week so you don’t miss any part of our blog-style tiny habits free course. (These tiny habits lessons will also be part of our weekly Tuesday emails, so if you prefer to get this free course weekly in your inbox instead, sign up for our newsletter below!)

If your main goal in 2021 is eating better, cooking more, being more organized, or improving overall health and wellness, you’ll definitely want to take advantage of our New Years Sale from 1/5/21 to 2/2/21 that will give you 20% off our meal plan service with code NEWHABITS.

And do buy the book or request a physical or digital copy from your local library. I can serve as your little tiny habits coach even if you don’t have the book in front of you over the next few weeks, but I know many of you will want a copy to dive deeper and add more accountability.

With that, let’s all say, “Take a hike, 2020!” 2021 is gonna be our year. #newhabitsin2021 for the win!
