Hadley: Hero in the Kitchen via @CookSmartsCooking is a continuous learning process, as Kitchen Hero Hadley knows. And keeping things simple doesn’t mean that the food has to be boring. We know this from all the delicious food photos that Hadley shares with us on our Facebook group. It’s all about sticking with uncomplicated things, learning through trial and error, and gradually becoming better. In Hadley’s case, the main purpose is to feed her family healthy meals, and it will definitely pay off when it comes time for an aquabike race! Read her Heroes in the Kitchen story below.

How did you learn to cook?

My parents always cooked at home, so I learned from them. In college, my roommates and I learned (and failed!) cooking together. Once I was living on my own, luckily Pinterest (and now Cook Smarts) became popular!

How has your cooking routine changed recently?

Using Cook Smarts (and having a list of favorites to choose from) has been so helpful in eliminating the previous boredom we were having with our cooking routine!

What advice would you give to other home cooks who want to cook more homemade meals?

Start simple! Not all meals have to be as complicated as Pinterest suggests! Cook Smarts is a great tool, and if some meals seem overwhelming, just cook pieces of them!

We agree, Hadley. Sometimes the simplest meals are the most satisfying. This means less time doing the dishes and more time spending it with the family (and the pup)!
